Hello AYB Families and Friends,
Thank you for your attention to my last email which outlined some of what to expect this season for baseball. For those families that opted out of baseball this season, I am keeping you on our distribution list so you can keep up with our current news and where we are going from here. Regardless if your son is playing baseball this season or not, all of you are part of the AYB family and we appreciate your support over the years. We are all better when we stick together!
Now that we have closed the opt out time period, we need to evaluate our numbers and our coaching situation. For some of our teams 13 and up, we need to evaluate which league options work the best and formulate a plan. Also we are meeting as a Board this week to make sure we are on track for everything we will need to do in order to play this season. Right now, we are still on target for June 22nd for all league and tournament teams. Our independent 19U team had their first practice this week and are using those practices as a testing ground for how we can hold practices during these times.
I expect this phase will take us several days before we determine teams and schedules. I am sure you are all waiting to get started, but there is still much work that needs to be done to make sure we get this right. Look for an email from me early next week outlining the next steps. Until then, please visit our AYB website and familiarize yourselves with the rules and regulations for the upcoming season.
I want to assure you we at AYB are taking these guidelines very seriously. We will not compromise on what we have committed to do. Doing our best is not good enough. Instead we will strive to do this perfectly. We will have stumbles along the way. Instead of calling each other out or highlighting mistakes, we will all learn and grow together, encouraging each other to get this right so our kids can play a little baseball this summer.
Thank you again for your support and patience as we see this through. The 50 plus years of Ashwaubenon Baseball have been special because of families like yours.
